Yes, Kauna'oa Bay and our Reserved Seating area on the beach is open for hotel guests to enjoy its pleasantly uncrowded and tranquil environment, perfect for unwinding and indulging in the comforts of a serene and spacious setting, free from crowds.
Our Beachfront Wing is OPEN for stays and future bookings. Guests are invited to enjoy our newly renovated guest rooms and suites in both the Main Tower and Beach Wing.
The beach at Kauna’oa Bay will be accessible throughout the hotel renovation with the following changes:
- Public Beach Parking will be temporarily relocated from its current location to an area adjacent to the tennis courts.
- Access to the beach by residential guests and the public will be from the north end of the property from the tennis shop, past the luau grounds, across the north pointe lawn and down the path past Manta Point.
Yes, we are excited to announce our original resort pool has now reopened. This original circular pool is now open for families and guest alike. We are also pleased to unveil a new adults‑only infinity edge lap pool located adjacent to our recently added fitness center. Both of the hotel pools showcase sweeping oceanfront vistas of Kauna‘oa Bay, offering guests an exceptional setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The hotel is pleased to announce all restaurants are open for guests. Hours of operation are subject to change so we highly recommend visiting the Dining page of the website or by calling the restaurant directly before your visit.
BREAKFAST: Manta restaurant is open for daily oceanfront breakfast service, and Mauna Kea Market will be open daily for grab-and-go options, fresh pastries, wraps, fruits, snacks, coffee and tea.
LUNCH: Hau Tree is open for lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to resort guests and the general public. Additionally, for hotel guests or golfers, our Number 3 golfside restaurant is now open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
DINNER: Manta, Copper Bar, and Hau Tree Cantina are open for dinner service. Please visit the website Dining for updated hours of operation.
Guests can also enjoy additional dining options available at our sister property's restaurants—Meridia, Naupaka and Piko—located at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. During holiday periods, these retaurants will be open for registered hotel guests only, so please call in advance to confirm hours of operations and availability.
LUAU: This special evening dinner experience is open for normal operating hours and admission. Please visit our website or call Concierge for reservations.
SPECIAL NOTE: Over the upcoming holiday periods, the restaurants (excluding luau) will be open to registered hotel guests, club members, and residents of Mauna Kea Resort only.
During holiday and peak season periods, our dining outlets will be available only to overnight guests, Club Members, and Mauna Kea Resort homeowners due to limited parking at the resort. Access to the public beach parking will remain open for guests to enjoy Kauna’oa Bay.

Phase One enhancements to the Main Tower and Phase Two upgrades to the Beachfront Wing, Hau Tree and the family pool have been completed and are now open for guests to enjoy. Our brand new state-of-the-art fitness center and adults‑only infinity edge pool are also open, offering fresh spaces for wellness and relaxation. The only remaining addition is our destination Spa, anticipated to open in April 2026.
Yes, the newest experiences at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel have open. As of November 21st, we have opened up our new fitness center, adult infinity pool, and pool lanai (deck). We are excited to have our guests experience the best in fitness and wellness at this newly built wellness facility.
Most of the renovation work will take place behind decorative barriers and out of guest view. While we anticipate some minimal construction noise during the our final phases, noisy work will be restricted to the hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Yes, improvements have been made to both areas and the work is now complete.
While the parking surface in our valet and self parking lot undergoes repair and updates, guests will be asked to have our valet team handle all car parking. Once the traditional lot becomes available in late 2025, we will revert back to traditional parking in our guest parking area.

Yes, supporting local musicians is important to us and our community. In addition to our weekly lūʻau that is available on Tuesdays and Fridays, we will continue to offer live Jazz on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings at Manta and nightly Hula performance and live Hawaiian music at Copper Bar.
All retail shops in the Main Tower are now open.
Yes, Seaside Racquet Club will be open and fully operational to welcome guests throughout the entire project.
Public areas in our Main Tower and Beachwing levels are all open to guests. On the promenade level, access to restaurants, fitness and business centers will be provided via designated pathways. Beachfront Wing and the original hotel pool are now open.
